Canada’s economy was essentially unchanged in July after three consecutive months of growth. However, real estate, rental and leasing activity increased 0.2% for the sixth month in a row, while construction grew 1.3%. Statistics Canada’s preliminary estimate also points to approximately 0.2% growth in August.
Here in Metro Vancouver, the market continues to send mixed signals. Buyers are cautious, but when the right property comes along, competition can still be strong.
Just recently, I attended a Court Order Sale that received 10 offers.
One property doesn’t represent the entire market, but it’s a good reminder: buyers are still out there — they’re simply being more selective.
